Professor Davis specialises in primary and revision hip and knee replacement including hip resurfacing and has a particular interest in computer assisted surgery.



He graduated from Birmingham University in 1996 and undertook his basic and higher surgical training in the West Midlands. He undertook a year’s fellowship in revision hip and knee arthroplasty in Toronto, Canada. Professor Davis holds an MSc in Trauma and a postgraduate certificate in medical education as well as the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics). Professor Davis has a strong research background in both clinical and basic research, with over 50 national and international presentations and has been invited faculty at national and international meetings on hip resurfacing.

Professor Davis was awarded his chair from the University of Birmingham within the college of Medical and Dental Sciences in 2015.
